Reflexology

People wishing to practice Reflexology as a professional for fee, barter, or trade, are governed under the Arkansas Massage Therapy Practice Law in the State of Arkansas.  There are exemptions to this law, so you may wish to read the law to see whether you need a massage license or not.  Reflexology laws, registration, and regulation vary by state.

These classes are designed for anyone to participate and practice this amazing artistic science, but please be aware that you should not charge for services offered to the public unless you have a proper license to touch the feet and/or hands. Please verify your eligibility by contacting the appropriate city and/or state officials regulating your Scope of Practice.

Stephenie Cooke  is the only person in the state accredited by the American Commission for the Accreditation of Reflexology Education and Training (ACARET) as a reflexology educator. She is one of only 4 nationally board certified Reflexologists in Arkansas by the ARCB.  She is certified in both the feet and hands.  Stephenie holds a Massage Therapy Instructor license. Thus, the AAEd, ARCB, and MTI designations have been attained.

Many of the classes included in the requirements for certification are accepted for continuing education requirements by the Arkansas State Board of Massage Therapy (ASBMT) and the Arkansas State Board of Physical Therapy (ASBPT).

If you are interested in supporting Reflexology in the state of Arkansas, want to learn more and get involved, or are a practitioner wanting a means of networking and sharing with others, please visit the Council of Arkansas Reflexologists web site and join!    www.councilofarreflexologists.com.
